The audiocassette subseries primarily contains audiocassette recordings of news broadcasts, radio programs, speeches given by L. Mendel Rivers, dedication ceremonies honoring Rivers, and oral history interviews conducted by Marion Rivers Ravenel for her book Rivers Delivers. Those interviewed include Senator J. Strom Thurmond, Representative Mendel J. Davis, Mayors of Charleston Joseph P. Riley, Sr., and J. Palmer Gaillard, Jr., President of the College of Charleston Theodore S. Stern, Thomas Waring, Irving Robertson, and Ross Blandford.
