Box JHC Miscellaneous Manuscript Collection Box 10

Set of color photographs of stained-glass windows and a 1996 newspaper clipping from The Item newspaper on the history of the stained-glass windows of Temple Sinai, Sumter, South Carolina. Also included are papers related to the Sinai Sisterhood. Papers include a list of Sinai Sisterhood presidents from 1951 to 1993; a 1996/1997 budget sheet; and nomination committee correspondence.

This collection consists of one black and white photograph of the four Savitz brothers (Maurice, Isaac, Samuel, and Daniel) standing on a street in St. Matthews, South Carolina. Location believed to be at F.R. Huff Drive near Bridge Street.

Sokol (1908-1967) was the owner and operator of the Oscar Sokol Agency, a subsidiary of the Milwaukee Insurance Company, located at 29 Broad Street, Charleston, South Carolina. Sokol would later become a successful real estate developer in Charleston.

Wilson is the owner and operator of Rabbi Ribeye Catering and fine specialty foods to order, located in Greenville, South Carolina. For a period of time Wilson served as rabbi of congregation Beth Israel in Greenville, South Carolina.

Rabbi Liebowitz is the Rabbi of Congregation B'nai Israel, Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Rabbi Belzer was the Rabbi of Congregation Mickve Israel, Savannah, Georgia, from 1990 until his retirement in 2011.
